Events

We have had positive feedback from some events that we have organized and are interested in sharing the winery with others that may find it suitable for gathering. Below are details about the facility and some terms that would define the arrangement. We remain open to new ideas. In addition there is information about public events that you might be interested in joining.

Public Events

Our First Friday night events feature great, mostly local talent.  We roll from about 7 till 11:00 and make ourselves as comfortable as we can using inside, outside, fire, fans, etc.  Bringing your own lawn chairs will ensure meeting your seating comfort expectations.  Sometime bug spray is helpful from time to time.  Folks bring wine related morsels to share or not.  We pull corks to make the occasion flow.

The Way out Wineries continues to schedule fun and affordable road trips.  Dial up the site www.wayoutwineries.org for additional details about these events.

Facility Description

We have renovated a rock cattle barn built by Donald Bird in 1968 for the Helen Knox ranch. We tried to remove the manure and retain the charm. Wood from old barns located in Granbury and Comanche provided the materials for the job. It has been a great facility to craft wine with friends.

The building sets on 4.4 acres.

There is 1350 square feet of open space under air and heat, in addition there is a bathroom and a small office with a sink for limited cleanup and storage.

Depending on the stage of wine making some of this space may be occupied from time to time.
There are porches, shade trees, an arbor, a fire pit, and a windmill.

A full 80 foot covered porch looks toward the pasture and beyond.

Terms and Conditions

We do rent out the facility for private gatherings.

Arrangements

Private wine tasting including tours of the facility and discussions of the wines and wine making are available at affordable prices. Your specific requirements (too many to attempt listing or defining) are certainly open to discussion.
